In rural scenery of fields and pastures a figure is ’drawing’ white chalk lines. These lines span the whole surroundings, and reflect the past, as well as future layouts of paths and pastures. This is a 'diachronical' way of looking at the development of the landscape through time. The camera, put in a high position, is moved by the wind as if it is part of the environment. The camera is unable to capture from any viewpoint the essence of the drawing activity. The new lines that are drawn alter the composition of the landscape in reality and in the compositions the camera is framing. The passing of time is indicated by the time necessary to make the drawing and by the ever changing game of light, wind and water, unexpected events and the sowing, growing and harvesting of the crops. But also by the duration of the sequences in the editing, and the use of two different formats in the same video work: digital and analog.
